The basil are small right now. I m doing a number of batches so I will have a large number into the end of May.  This is a very tender herb and will not survive being planted outside until closer to the end of May.

Slightly cupped to flat, 3″ leaves with a somewhat spicier flavor than traditional pesto types. The leaf shape and more open habit make this variety less susceptible to basil downy mildew. Pesto and so much more! This is a favourite herb for many. This plant loves the full hot sun but my son had success on his north facing balcony. I still haven’t figured that one out yet. Don’t let it get to the flowering stage shown in the picture. Harvest continually to keep the plant producing new leaves.
